Ir. Ciputra - Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2007 Indonesia

Finally, the day has come, the award ceremony of the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award at Hotel Mulia Jakarta Indonesia announced the great entrepreneur of Indonesia Ir. Ciputra as the entrepreneur to represent Indonesia for the Ernst & Young World’s Entrepreneur of The Year Award in Monte Carlo in 2008 along with 49 other entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Ir. Ciputra is a property tycoon in Indonesia of Ciputra Group who has contributed many mega property developments in Indonesia. It has been an honor for me to meet Ir. Ciputra in person at the award ceremony and met many great entrepreneurs of Indonesia.

“Dari 100 nominator, dewan juri memilih 11 nominator untuk kategori business achievement award yakni Bobby Leong (PT Medan Yaohan Santosa), Buntoro (PT Mega Andalan Kalasan), Budyanto Totong (PT Catur Sentosa Adiprana), Ir Ciputra (Ciputra Group), David Herman Jaya (PT Mekar Armada Jaya), Hertriono Kartowisastro (PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk), Imelda Sundoro (Sun Motor Group), Karel Mompang Sinaga (PT Asuransi Jiwa Bumi Asih), Sheila Maria Tiwan (PT Carsurin), Sugiono Wiyono (PT Trikomsel Multimedia) dan VP Sharma (PT Mitra Adi Perkasa Tbk). Kriteria penjurian mencakup semangat wirausaha, kinerja keuangan perusahaan, strategi bisnis, dampak global, inovasi dan integritas.

Ada pula tiga nominator untuk kategori Social Entrepreneur of the Year yaitu Anton Sujarwo (Yayasan Dian Desa), Sofyan Tan (Yayasan Sultan Iskandar Muda), dan Shafiq Dhanani (Mitra Bisnis Keluarga Ventura).

Deputi Senior Gubernur Bank Indonesia Miranda Swaray Goeltom selaku dewan juri menyebutkan, pemenang kategori Young Entrepreneur Sheila Maria Tiwan dan Services Entrepreneur diraih Budyanto Totong, serta Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 dimenangkan Anton Sudjarwo.

Giuseppe Nicolosi, CEO Ernst and Young Indonesia mengatakan, “Kami telah menyelenggarakan program penghargaan EOY ini selama tujuh tahun. Tahun ini kami telah memilih 14 dari 100 nominator yang kami terima dari seluruh Indonesia. Setiap finalis memiliki cerita sukses yang luar biasa, yang sudah sepatutnya menjadi contoh dan inspirasi bagi para entrepreneur lainnya di Indonesia.”

Dalam perjalanan sejarah perghargaan berskala internasional ini, peraih EOY tahun 2001 Dahlan Iskan dari Jawa Pos Group, tahun 2002 BRA Mooryati Soedibyo (PT Mustika Ratu Tbk), tahun 2003 Djoenaedi Joesoef (PT Konimex), tahun 2004 Sudhamek AWS (Garudafood), tahun 2005 Jakob Oetama (Kompas Group), dan tahun 2006 diraih Jacobus Busono (Pura Group).

Sementara, World Entrepreneur of the Year diraih CEO Saes Getters SpA Paolo della Porta (2001), CEO BrainLab AG Stefan Vilsmeier (2002), Pendiri dan Pimpinan Infoys Technologies Ltd Narayana Murthy (2003), Pimpinan Jollibee Foods Corporation Tony Tan Caktiong (2004), Pimpinan Huizenga Inc Wayne Huizenga (2005), CEO Imperial Holdings Bill Lynch (2006), dan CEO Cirque du Soleil Guy Laliberte (2007).” ( Kompass 29 November 2007 )
