The internet has changed how the world communicates; from individuals to businesses.
- We now find new friends online as there is more trill in that and we have a world of friends to find. This is why Friendster and Myspace is a success
- We no longer buy dictionaries and thesaurus as we search for everything online. That’s why Google is worth BILLIONS of dollars and still increasing.
- Artists and wannabee post up videos and acts online through “You TUBE”, that’s why Google bought it for $ 1.65 BILLION!
- We seldom call one another anymore as we have FREE emails and chatting rooms to share our thoughts that’s why Messenger, Hotmail and Yahoo is a success!
- WE dont watch much TV anymore as the internet has more interesting and “REAL” stuff posted by REAL people. This is also why reality TV show is a hit.
- We dont watch TV news anymore as we can get more updated news online whenever we want without commercials. Many TV stations are changing their business model , dump their TV network divisions and invest on websites.
- We no longer buy diaries as we now have online BLOGS. you have seen how successful is “Blogger” and we can choose to share our thoughts to the world.
- We dont buy our air tickets from our agents anymore as it is more convenient for us to book online, choosing our own itenery and our own seats!
- We book our hotels online now as we can check user reviews and compare prices easily
- We now buy and sell our stuff through eBay! We dont need any garage sales or second hand shops anymore.
Do you see where this is going…. Tom Peters the management Guru said in 2005 that “in 5 Years, businesses who are not online, will vanish!” It is now 2007! How many more years do you have? We have seen the impact of internet on our lives and it is catching up on us!
